Working with Homestyle Landscaping
The Paperwork
Now that you have decided to work with HomeStyle Landscaping we ask you to
meet with your designer to “fine tune” your project. Changes after
the work begins are costly and require more time.
Your designer will now go over the contract with you and answer any questions you may have. Please read carefully and make sure you understand the content before signing.
At the time the contract is signed the customer is required to pay a $1000 deposit before we can schedule your project. Please remember that this is a non-refundable deposit. If the customer cancels the job, they are responsible for paying for any materials used and any work already done, including and restocking charges and design and layout changes.
At the start of the project we require ½ down less the $1000 deposit. The balance is due upon completion at the walkthrough after sod is layed.
The Project
![]() |
HomeStyle will call for the locations of underground lines. We will need a place to park our tool trailer and tractor (usually in the front of the house)
The order of a typical job is as follows:
1. Grade cuts
2. Berms/Walls/Retaining
3. Flagstone patios/walks
4. Soil Prep
5. Sprinklers
6. Plantings
7. Rockwork
8. Sod
Schedule
and Weather Days
Your designer will give you an approximate start date. We schedule to start
your project as soon as our schedule will allow but due to employee availability, materials
and most often the weather, your project may be delayed. Your landscape designer
will keep you informed of any schedule changes.
Plant
Availability
Plants that were specified in your project may not look good, no longer available
etc. Your designer will make every effort to get the plants that will work
for your site or choose a comparable substitute.
Changes
Changes to the design are expensive. Once the landscaping plan is approved
and the contract signed, the homeowner will be responsible for any additional design,
material and labor charges made to the plan. Changes
made to work already performed will result in the homeowner paying for the increases
in costs for material and labor. If the customer wants input in placement we ask
they be on site during that phase.
